If you are a skilled worker with the right experience, skills, and background, you might be able to make Canada your permanent home through Express Entry.
Express Entry is an online system used by the Canadian government to manage permanent residence applications to fill labour gaps through specific economic immigration programs. Launched on 1 January 2015, this immigration system selects and communicates with skilled and qualified applicants; it also manages a pool of immigration-ready skilled workers. There is a mandatory requirement to apply through EE for foreign nationals who wish to apply for permanent residence as skilled workers in one of the following sub-classes:
Candidates applying under this category must have worked full-time for a minimum of one year (1560 Hours) or equivalent part-time within the last ten years, preceding the date of application. Additionally, applicants must have completed a diploma or degree or have secondary school Certificate equivalent to Canadian Education to qualify. For language proficiency, a skilled Worker must take approved language tests in English or French and get a minimum score of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in all abilities.
This program is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents. To qualify, a skilled worker must have an equivalent amount of at least one year of full-time work experience or part-time work experience within the three years before applying in Skill Type 0, A or B. The candidate must take approved language tests in English or French and get a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 for NOC 0 or A, (CLB) 5 for NOC B. There is no education requirement under this program.
